Revised floodplain maps became effective May 4, 2006 for the channel from the Missouri River to Stadium drive. A value Engineering study was performed in April 2007 to identify possible cost savings for the next phase of the work and to incorporate green solutions to the project. The Lower Blue Parkway Bridge has been demolished and the new bridge, currently under design, is scheduled for replacement in 2009. The upper Blue Parkway Bridge is currently under construction. Completion for the Blue River Channel Project may be achieved if adequate federal funding is provided.
