BLUE RIVER CHANNEL, Kansas City, MO - FY16 $0 Construction

STATUS

• FY14 $ addresses channel deficiencies, maintenance access, and required environmental impact mitigation completing the 1970 authorized federal flood control project.

• Celebration planned September 2015.

• Local sponsor continues to seek additional benefits though EPA’s Urban Waters Initiative and other local efforts.

BENEFIT OF PROJECT

Completed project will lower 100-year flood levels approximately 6 to 8 feet to protect 4,100 businesses employing 66,100 people, and many residential neighborhoods.
