The first shovel of dirt for the new flood control containment system was dug on September 12, 2012. Work is progressing nicely as Wolfe Construction is using part of the old landfill to store the material which may later be used in the levee work.

These photos show the production of the trenching, placing the concrete pipe and culvert for storm run-off. It is a busy street and the Corps has done a good job with traffic control and scheduling. We have hope to keep the project moving along with additional funding to start the work by the river and move into the flyover bridge soon.
