The current request for KC Levees is shown below: 

KANSAS CITYS LEVEES, Kansas and Missouri –

FY16 $2,000,000 Phase 1 Construction

FY16 $1,000,000 Phase 2 Design

Regional Levee Owner/Operators working on a Floodplain Management Plan

Modification to authorization desired for all System Levee Units at total cost of $402.5M

STATUS -

Phase 1

FY16 $2M completes construction of Fairfax Jersey Creek Sheet pile wall.

East Bottoms underseepage improvements construction contract awarded September 2014.

Argentine Unit design for foundation reliability improvements planned FY16.

Phase 2   

FY16 $1,000,000 continues design for underseepage and stability measures on Armordale and CID units.

CWRB held April 22, 2014. Chief’s Report pending.   

BENEFIT OF PROJECT

Protection of thousands of commercial, industrial, and residential structures with a combined investment totaled at more than $20 billion, extensive rail and road system of national importance, vital utilities, downtown airport, 90,000 jobs, and 20,000 residents.
