This committee focuses on water quality, water availability/quantity, drought management, ecosystem management, and sedimentation management. The committee will engage with stakeholders in navigation, agriculture, local governments, industry and identify how the issues of focus are impacting the different stakeholders. Additionally, the committee will connect MOARC with participation activities related to water resiliency at the regional and national level as well as identify issues that are rising in this space that had not previously been a priority. In 2025, the Committee will be watching out of basin transfers within the Missouri River basin as well levels of water availability in reservoirs and aquifers for Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska. The issues of climate change and adaptation will be part of the lenses for the conducting of this work. The Water Resiliency Committee will be responsible for delivering legislative policy updates to the Legislative Policy Committee at a minimum twice a year.
