MOARC originated in 1952. For more than six decades MOARC has been instrumental in putting stakeholders and issues together with the political process to achieve success in a variety of Water Projects.

MOARC is an organization which represents all people, whether interested in commercial, recreational, city or rural concerns, and speaks for them whenever and wherever a unified voice is appropriate in water resource matters. Although MOARC's most frequently viewed assignment in this work is in the halls of the Kansas and Missouri legislatures and the United States Congress, you will also find the organization representing its membership in local, state, and federal government agencies and in many private organizations where water and related land resources are being considered.

A major MOARC goal devotes time to better inform its membership on issues and answers regarding water and related land resources programs. The organization sponsors seminars and training programs, along with conferences and other educational functions, designed to present current ideas of resources management.
